The Laws that Govern Wealth and Prosperity

The Laws that Govern Wealth and Prosperity

welcome to the believers voice to victory I'm pastor George Pearson's and I am so excited about being with you I appreciate Kenneth and Gloria for asking me to do these two weeks of broadcast and once again we're bringing you ten days of true prosperity true prosperity is the ability to use God's power to meet the needs of mankind in any realm of life and the Lord is teaching us and training us how to use that wealth how to become experts at managing God's finances managing what belongs to us in Christ Jesus and to be able to walk in a new level wouldn't you like to walk in a new level of prosperity a higher place of prosperity there are some things that we need to know about the difference between how the godly operate with wealth and how the ungodly operate in wealth there is a difference and there has been confusion in religious circles about just how that is done to the degree that people have preached against prosperity they're preaching against something that is the will of God they're preaching against something that God desires for us to walk in but there are ways for us to operate in this prosperity and that's what we're talking about I encourage you first of all to get the notes get the outlines all of my outlines are made available to you on KCMG org you can go to our homepage and click on to my picture there and you can find these notes that you can download study them you can pause the TV right now and go get the notes because we're following these and I do these for several reasons first of all I want you to be able to have this information sometimes the broadcast will go by so quickly that it would be helpful to have this in printed form for you to be able to go back and study this also I'm encouraging pastors and ministers families to take these notes to study them out and especially this 10-day period that we're talking about true prosperity this is really defining the difference between how the ungodly operate prosperity and how the godly operate in prosperity let's take a look now at our foundation scripture for this it's found in first Timothy chapter 6 and verse 17 it says charge them that are rich in this world that they be not high-minded nor trust in the uncertainty of riches but trust in the Living God who gives us richly all things to enjoy that they do good that they be rich in good works ready to distribute and willing to communicate now this is what Paul told Timothy to talk to the rich about in the church he didn't kick the the rich out of the church he didn't tell them they didn't have to be rich he told them that there were certain areas of conduct that they needed to improve upon in order for them to walk in that godly wealth and that's what God is teaching us in this this seminar that we're having teaching us how to walk in godly wealth the right way the correct way the righteous way the way that you and I need to walk in that wealth that will keep us on the right path so far we've talked about not being high-minded or arrogant we discussed that we should not trust in the uncertainty in riches but trust in God in the Living God who gives us all things richly to enjoy and today we're going to talk about this little phrase here these four words that they do good that they do good now you might wonder to yourself why would Paul have to point out something so obvious as the people who are rich to do good well the reason is is the rich had the reputation of doing wicked things and that is a temptation that's a temptation when money comes on the scene for the love of money is the root of all evil when money comes on the scene we have to walk circumspectly we have to walk in a place of diligence watching over ourselves you know it's interesting how you're you believing God for finances and believing for these needs to be met and then all of a sudden those needs are being met the finances are coming in and then there's a whole new set of things that we have to walk in Paul told Timothy to tell these rich people they need to do good they don't need to do wicked things wicked things those wicked things will lead them to disaster let me read to you a couple of scriptures that I found on this first of all proverbs 1:18 in the NIV translation it says these men lie in wait for their own blood talking about the wealthy these wealthy people lie in wait for their own blood they way lay only themselves such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain it takes away the lives of those who get it so we see here that those who are chasing after finances and trying to get it in the wrong way so is the end of all of those that go after ill-gotten gain now here's another scripture in proverbs 13 chapter 11 again in the NIV translation dishonest money dwindles away that's what he was telling him to do good that's what paul was saying you've got to do good things with your money because dishonest money will dwindle away but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow let me read a couple of other translations from this scripture to bring upon that point across to us more clearly it says in the New Living Translation wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears but wealth from hard work grows over time you see here these get-rich-quick schemes trying to get money in that wicked way it will quickly disappear it says in the amplified translation wealth not earned but one in haste or unjustly or from production of things for vain and detrimental use such riches will dwindle away but he who gathers little by little will increase in his riches you know I was looking at a commentary talking about this scripture and in this commentary it says this wealth gotten by dishonesty or vice has a secret curse there is a curse that is attached to wealth that is that is ill-gotten gain wealth that is gotten by dishonesty or vice basically wickedly using money will bring on a secret curse and it says which will speedily waste it here's another scripture proverbs 28 8 the New Living Translation income from charging high interest rates will end up in the pocket of someone who is kind to the poor so you can see here the difference between the upright and the wicked and how the upright should act and how the wicked act with their finances and and what they need to do to change that here's another scripture proverbs 28 2005 translation a faithful man shall abound with blessings but he who makes haste to be rich at any cost he who makes haste to be rich at any cost shall not be unpunished I was listening to this series that were offering on the broadcast this true prosperity series and in it Gloria was talking to us about properly handling wealth and she said here the sages of Jewish commentaries say that judgment is sometimes in riches how can that be for example look at an entertainer or an athlete that never had money and is now making lots of money he has more money than he knows what to do with but because he's not born again spirit-filled and is living in a dark world he won't be taking it to the church where's he going to take it he'll take it to the drug dealer to the beer joint and to immorality he can buy all the immorality and drugs that he wants that is why so many of these people are in trouble financially they have the world on a string but the world is all they have their money drives them with judgment whether money is good or bad or bad depends on who has the money what an amazing statement that is whether the money is good or bad depends on who has the money if the wicked have the money then the money is going to be used for bad things if the righteous have the money the money is going to be used for righteous things it's that simple and that's what you and I need to determine in our lives that we need to be the righteous and that when finances increase we don't turn wicked on it we stay righteous we stay on track we stay exactly and precisely where God wants us to be in the properly proper handling of our finances now she also said this you can't look at the rich and wonder how they got their money money acquired by ill-gotten gain is not from God you can be a part of the mafia and have lots of money but you probably live out your full number of days what happens to all of the ill-gotten money it goes right into the hands of the Justin and Gloria said this do you want to be one of those hands she said we'll get it together and you can be so we see here where the wicked is concerned they don't know how to handle that money they don't know what to do with that money and you know in my study of this I want you to take a look at Luke chapter 19 Luke chapter 19 and we're going to take a look at an individual in a wealthy wicked man who actually repented he repented he turned his life around he learned some things from Jesus about how to properly walk in wealth in Luke chapter 16 Luke Luke chapter 19 rather look at Luke chapter 19 and it's says here in verse 1 and Jesus entered and passed there Jericho and behold there was a man named Zacchaeus you remembers a kiss who was a chief among the publicans and he was rich now here's a rich man here this guy this guy was rich he had a lot of money he was a publican he was a publican or tax collector was not well-liked at that time and it said he sought to see Jesus who he was and he could not for the press because he was little of stature he was a short guy he couldn't see Jesus for all of the people so it says he ran before climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him for he was to pass that way there was something that was stirring on the inside of this rich wicked man and he was a wicked man who will find out in a moment just how wicked he was but there was something on the inside of him that was crying out he knew that there was something wrong he knew that there was something going wrong in his life he knew that he had to change something in his life so he got to Jesus couldn't see him climbed up the tree and when Jesus came to the place he looked up he saw him and he said to him Xia Zacchaeus hurry up come down for today I must abide at your house Jesus had come to minister to that man Jesus had come to bring salvation to his house but not not just salvation in the sense of turning his life around but he came to train him and teach him in these things and he said he made haste he came down joyfully and he received him joyfully he received him into his house joyfully now when they saw it they all murmured saying that he was gone to be a guess with the man that was a sinner they couldn't believe it they couldn't believe that Jesus was going into this mandus sinners house and Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord now there's something that happened here between verses 7 and verse 8 Jesus went into his house and he he visited with Zacchaeus I don't know how long he stayed there I don't know how much time Jesus devoted to this one man but I believe that Jesus one of the things that he was doing was he was laying out not only the play the plan of the kingdom of God for Zacchaeus but he was also correcting him and adjusting him where his thinking was concerned concerning wealth and it says here that Zacchaeus stood and he said to the Lord behold Lord the half of my goods I give to the poor and if I've taken anything from any man by false accusation I restore him for fold I mean this is just amazing this is absolutely amazing Zacchaeus stood and he said to the Lord I will give half of my goods to the poor I mean Jesus must have had a a really good talking to the statistic is training him teaching him about wealth and how to use that well you know I believe that Jesus was teaching Zacchaeus some of the same things that he was probably teaching that rich young ruler trying to get him over into a right place financially trying to get him over into that place of being righteous in handling wealth and I don't believe Jesus was telling us a kiss okay you can't be rich anymore you can't be wealthy anymore but he said what you're doing with your money is going to kill you it's going to destroy you it's gonna wipe you out so Jesus sat down with him face to face was the kiss begin to go over these things and I really honestly believe that he was most likely telling him the same things that we read in 1st Timothy he was telling Zacchaeus don't be high-minded don't be arrogant don't trust in your riches but trust in the Living God do good Zacchaeus be rich in good works towards God being ready to distribute willing to communicate and by doing so you lay up treasures in heaven and lay up a foundation for the time to come life eternal the kiyose his life was turned around that day that rich man that rich man and the point that I'm trying to make here is Jesus did did not tell him you can't be rich anymore he didn't tell him that he just got his thinking straight about how to handle his wealth and we can learn a lesson from this and a good one at that we can learn a lesson from Zacchaeus Zacchaeus came out he stood up and he said lord I will give half of my goods to the poor I mean God really cut a hold of him and really ministered to him and you know what that's what we do that's what that's what wealthy people do we give to the poor we help supply the poor we help bring the Word of God to the poor and then he said if I've taken anything from any man by false accusation I will restore him four fold for fo I mean not just not just return not just return to him what was taken from him but he was going to restore to him four fold of what was taken Jesus turned his life around then he said this he said in verse 9 and Jesus said to him this day is salvation come to this house for as much as he also is a son of Abraham for the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost in the life of Zacchaeus in the life of this rich man he turned it around he got us thinking straight now before we go into the break here in just a moment there's a scripture that the Lord just quickened me about and it's found in Proverbs I'm looking for proverbs here are psalms rather Psalms Psalm 73 in Psalm 73 and I hadn't marked it in my Bible so I'm getting to it as quick as I can Psalm 73 talks about the wicked it talks about the wicked who prosper David said this he said for I was envious at the foolish when I saw the prosperity of the wicked for there are no bands in their death but their strength is firm it said they are not in trouble as other men neither are they plagued like other men therefore pride surrounds them as a chain violence covers them as a garment their eyes stand out with fatness they have they have more than heart could wish they are corrupt they speak wickedly concerning oppression they speak lawfully they set their mouth against the heavens their tongue walks through the earth therefore his people return hither the waters are a full cup are rung out to them and they say how does God know is their knowledge of the Most High behold these are ungodly who prosper in the world they increased in their riches and it goes on to talk about how the Lord was talking to David don't look at that don't look at them that was just a description right there of the wicked and how the wicked operate and how the wicked function they are corrupt they are corrupt and what we need to learn from this listen to me very closely what you and I need to learn from this that as wealth begins to grow in our lives we are making a determination that we are not going to go the way of the wicked we are not going to do that we are going to love God with all of our hearts we're going to seek him with everything that we have we are going to continue to walk on his path we're gonna seek the Lord for everything in our lives and we are not going to cross over into that place of wickedness Zacchaeus was a wicked rich man whose life was turned around and what did Jesus minister to him he ministered to him to give to the poor he ministered to him to repay all of those that he had taken from and I think this is wonderful and it may be very well that's a kiyose did this out of his own heart he decided to repay them fourfold you know something when you learned the laws that govern wealth and prosperity the right way the right way the correct way the correct way to walk in this you will experience prosperity from heaven on high that you have never experienced before you will experience an outpouring from God when you know how to walk in this when you know how to manage God's funds on earth when you know how to walk in that place of divine prosperity divine life will come to you father we come before you right now in the name of Jesus I thank you that you are correcting our thinking and according to the Word of God with our finances we are going to do good we're going to do good show us father what we need to change show us Lord what we need to alter show us where we need to give show us where we need to so father it is my heart to be a better giver a better sower and a better harvester so Lord with are the things that you give us we are going to do good we're going to do good and we're not going to be wicked about it and we'll never cross over will never ever ever dare cross over into that place of wickedness in our lives but father we are going to walk in all honesty and uprightness before you and we are going to walk in the place of your divine wealth your divine prosperity and your divine provision and with it we're going to do good with it we are going to create good things for God upon this earth for people to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ in greater ways in a greater measure father we thank you for that we thank you for that Lord Oh father we give you praise and honor and glory in Jesus mighty name amen and amen I'll be right back Jesus is faithful to God and he's faithful to you and he's faithful to his work so get that other junk out and get the word in and get that in your heart get it in your ears get it in your eyes begin to say it with your mouth he'll be faithful that every word you say come to a Kenneth Copeland
