To me this isn't even about the fact that Companies are using Mica for make-up, but the CORRUPTION and GREED involved. If the families that work on the mines are paid adequately and properly taken care of, they wouldn't have to live like this. It's all about the lack of compassion and greed. They simply do not care.
Kailash Satyarthi was awarded Nobel Peace Prize along with Malala Yousafzai for his work in eliminating child labor. People like him rightly deserved it, not Obama or Trump!!
I think companies should help those families and give their parents tools and building materials to at least make mica collecting easier. Giving these families their own choice (because the cast system is really terrible and won't give much of company possibilities for the most poor) of making it their legal income and be able to sell it with fair price instead of having it stolen by those who sell it higher price than they ever would. This is after all their country's richness, which is constantly stolen away from their lands. Something has to be done!
Now Estee Lauder is my favorite for both quality and ethics. You have to face that many of these kids have no other choice and look towards a realistic way of helping them that will succeed. Though it’s terrible that little kids have to do such work the contribution of education and better working conditions offers a lot.

Well, Now i'm glad my mom doesn't let me wear makeup
Why don't they just collapse the mine first and then dig into the earth to get the mica?
That man in welfare associations doesn't know good English
After you guys left because people heard you were there what happens to the childrens
Welp I wanted to buy makeup but not so much anymore
please make sure these kids who spoke in the video are safe.
This is so sad it made me look at my makeup products so different… this needs to be known !

This is such a good series
She should’ve paid them a lot of money tbh
All thanks to corruption government 😡
May God protect them 😭
Don't buy mica products, kids go hungry.
Buy mica products, kids are in danger. But they have food.
So we're focused on stupid beauty community drama while we're putting on child labour on our faces every single day. Sick!
I will never buy a highlighter again!
Awesome job !
So sad to hear what had happened to Surma's sister. This kind of tragedy should not be happening, let alone the exploitation of children.
