Rep. Scalise: 'Very likely' House Democrats vote to impeach president

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise sits down for an exclusive interview with one America's John Heinz to discuss several topics here's part three of that exclusive interview do you think the Democrats will vote to impeach the president is that a prediction I think it's very likely that the House Democrats will vote to impeach the president it's not going to go anywhere in the Senate it might clog up and waste time in the Senate but it won't happen the president's not going to be removed and there are no grounds for impeachment president first of all and and they do a traditional say that president wants to be in peace because he feels that might improve this chances of re-election do you think I mean look the president's commented on how ridiculous it makes Democrats look that they're focusing so much of their time with this infatuation it's almost like they've got this this personal hatred of the president that transcends their common sense and it's literally gotten the best of them where basic things they should be doing talk to your Louisiana colleague Senator John Kennedy said that ask him about this immigration he said that that the the Democrats hate this president so much that they do not want to give him any victories do you remember seeing any anything like that in your political career no I haven't and and again on both sides you know you can go through Republican presidents Democrat presidents you haven't seen this kind of hatred where they literally would put what's best for America on the side because they're more interested in going after the president and look with Barack Obama I will be the first to acknowledge there were a lot of policy differences I had with President Obama I expressed them publicly expressed him personally to him but when there were things that we could work on together we did them you come from an energy state do you think that humans are responsible for climate change and talk a little bit about this the new Green Deal which we've heard so much about how does that go over in the first District of Louisiana sure first of all I mean if you look at the science the earth temperature has changed up and down for thousands of years before man had a combustion engine you know so this idea that we think we can pass some bill that's literally going to be a thermostat that can change the temperature the earth I think is a little bit arrogant in fact AO sees I think threatened every Democrat presidential candidate including Joe Biden into supporting this laughable idea but then if you go backward and look at the Paris Accord that they want us to sign every single country in Europe is out of compliance with the Paris Accord they can't even achieve it France where Paris is located is not in compliance with the Paris Accord because it literally would wreck their economy to achieve it and yet they want us to sign on to it and oh by the way they exempted China and India who are the biggest polluters so why don't we actually focus on technology in America we've reduced carbon emissions been very generous with your time I just wanted to ask you a little bit about baseball I understand you're practicing for the game what position are you applying I'm playing second base competing for my starting job that I was able to start at last year I I'm a little more limited in my mobility than some of the other players but you know with a lot of heart you can go a long way we play in just a few days in the major league ballpark and Washington National Ballpark there they're wonderful about letting us use that we will have over 10,000 people there it'll raise over half a million dollars for local charities groups like the Boys and Girls Club of Washington DC it's really wonderful to be a part of because it does bring Republicans and Democrats together I'm assuming I'll be wearing an LSU jerseys I've got my LSU Jersey that I've been donning a lot but uh you look this is the year for the Republicans to beat the Democrats that we want to have fun we want to raise a lot of money for charity but we want to win the game to Steve Scalise thank you for talking what America I think so always happy to do it want to see more videos like this click on the link below and subscribe to one American news on YouTube and call your cable provider and kindly demand that what American news is added to your lineup call and subscribe today
