Leadership Skills at Rider University

I'd started being a center of my freshman year cuz I've always been involved in high school and early my life did for both my freshman and sophomore year I realized that I would get more involved to make I came on the Finance Board which is the group which oversees you soon Activities fee which is about a million dollars and we distribute that all the clubs and organizations now currently SJ treasure which is in charge of that million dollars from writing checks furry bunny how many people really get in charge of a million-dollar budget in college is cover those uShip roles our experiences we really kind of define you and really see where i want to go growing up it where I want to be coming in to Ryder I think the first premier opportunity that students have is to enter the emerging Leaders program the emerging Leaders program takes the lead role and the climbing of midnight madness it is the premier pep rally for us on campus it's being done by first-year students which I think it's an exciting thing they come up with the ideas they come up with the themes they're putting the program on there and playing the program their budgeting they're doing all the work for the program so I think that makes it even more of a special event it's not a program being done for students to program by the students I think that makes even more special for you in high school I really into much it wasn't involved in many clubs but here at rider I knew that I didn't want to do that I wanted to definitely put my foot in the door so I tried out for the student education association went through a couple interviews and I got the president for that I was shocked i did not think I was going to get it but that's been huge for me I mean I've never had a leadership position like that until now there's one nization I'm involved with on campus called our stock we develop professional skills I was the president of that and the goals of a managerial role play that we do is to sort of see what the situation would be in a real world experience let's say your manager and one of your workers came in late how would you deal with that situation if you continue with these leadership skills that you're able to develop them learn how to lead a team I think that's one of the main focal points the organization and why it's able to develop such strong leaders I decided to get involved in student government because I felt that it is the best place to really make a difference on campus some of the skills that I've developed from being a student have been public speaking it has been learning to work with others it's learning to run meetings create agendas create policy come up with ideas on the spot I've learned how to be a leader I've learned how to listen to others and really be able to work well in those type of environments very fast-paced environment
