quarter inch barrels, the HD-FDA1, which is our most versatile, used with many types
of attachment hardware, and our HD-FDA2, for our larger sizes used for, let’s say, our
1/4 inch wood hanger screws. So, let’s get started. For the HDFDA1, we will
start by drilling a 1/4 inch hole in the mounting surface. Insert the tip the HD-FDA into the hole,
and tap it flush. here are a few of the anchor types that
can be used with the HD-FDA1. We’ve got our combination screws which can be
used amount of standoff barrel to a surface. Our wood hanger screws, that
will also work well in these anchors. And, a common #8 wood screw. Here we’ll
install the HD-CBS1 with a 5-32 hex bit. This is most commonly used to attach our 5/16-18 threaded barrels or standoffs to walls. Remember to keep steady, even pressure as you install hardware into the HD-FDA series of anchors. Too little pressure, and
the anchor may start to back out as it expands. Too much pressure, you can
actually push the anchor through the hole in the wall. Another item we can install in the HD-FDA series of anchors, is our wood hanger screws. You’ll need a special driver for these,
we sell these, they’re not very expensive and the scope
of the job, and all they do is thread on to the machine-threaded end and allow
you to use a drill motor to drive them in. This is a fast and inexpensive way to
install. The HD-WHS1 is ideal for mounting are 3/8 inch barrels, and is also
included in our HD-WA series of wall anchors. Put your drill in reverse, and
back the tool off of the stud. The HD-FDA1 is included in the HD-WA assemblies.
Our “WA” or wall-board assemblies are comprised of three parts, the HD-FDA1,
being the anchor. After the included wood hanger screw is driven into the
wall anchor, a threaded insert is screwed on, allowing for a specific length of 5/16-18 thread protruding from the wall surface. Threaded inserts are available
in seven different sizes ranging from 1/4 inch to 1 inch in length.
The various lengths allow flush-mounting of material with different thicknesses
and the use of shorter barrels and layered systems when dimensions get
critical,
