Creative Writing For Novels – How To Beat Writers Block | Young Adult Kindle Unlimited | Author

Hi, everyone, and welcome to the first in
a new series of Writing Tips called, SG Fixin’. Where I explain how I would approach any writing
queries or issues you may have. Now, one thing to remember is that my approach may not necessarily
work for you, but comment below and let me know if my exercise helped. One of the most common issues that writers
face is writer’s block, and it can be a real pain for anyone who has ever struggled
with it. I see it so many times online, on Twitter and various other writing forums. My approach whenever I’ve ever struggled
with writer’s block is to use the egg-timer method. So, what I would do is set a timer
on my mobile phone for, say, 20 minutes or so, and I do my best to write something that
is totally unrelated to my work in progress. This way, I get 20 minutes writing done and
I can walk away feeling as though I’ve actually accomplished something for the day. On the
other hand, at times I feel that warms me up and I’ve been able to go back to the
story I’ve been working on and had an issue with, in relation to the writer’s block. Sometimes, that release of pressure is enough
to break whatever blockage there is and I can then continue with the work in progress. Well, thank you for watching the first episode
of SG Fixin’. Please comment below if you tried the exercise for yourself and subscribe
for any future episodes. Also, if you have any issues with your writing and you would
like me to comment on it, or suggest how I would maybe approach the issue, comment below
or add me on @sgfiction on Twitter and sgfiction on Instagram. See you next time!
