  1. I have been an academic writer for over 20 years, but recently I started doing freelance work writing articles.  The styles between the two disciplines are so different that, I found myself struggling. This video has been immensely helpful, and Allan's writing was moving as well.  Thank you to the BBC, and thank you Allan Little.

  2. Even though I watched this video several times in the past, I keep coming back because there are countless details to rediscover and admire each time.
This kind of content reminds me why I've loved and chosen journalism, although my society pays it very little to no respect at all.
Thank you for being such an inspiration to me.

  3. And remember, if one thousand german girls are mugged, vaginally and anally groped and assaulted, whatever you do DO NOT REPORT IT, and if, after 72 hours, you do report it, make sure you dont blame the migrant perpetrators, try to blame innocent german men. If you can allow yourself to do this, congratulations, you have the main requirement to be a BBC journalist.

  4. Winner of a video, been searching for "how to become a freelance writer in india" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across – Fiyyan Freelance Fraternity – (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my partner got excellent results with it.

  5. Golden Rules:

    -Have something to say.
-Read (preferably poetry and analyze how the writer bends the language).
    -Clarity.
    -Precision.

  6. Who would want to be a journalist, a paid liar for governments and media moguls who is now seen as being the lowest of the lowest.

  7. "They almost always called their mothers" I served there. I was never out side your hotel room, but I was one of those dirty and unbearably young kids. Thank you for lessening the wrath of their mothers. If I wasn't sitting down, I would have hit my knees. Well said sir.

  8. I'm an indian chemist. Always wanted to be journalist in BBC. But I've an indian accent , is that going to be an obstacle?
