A Legal Expert On Lil Peep’s Wrongful Death Lawsuit | Genius News

[HOST] Lil Peep’s mother, Liza Womack is
suing her late son’s former management company, First Access Entertainment for negligence,
breach of contract, and wrongful death. [HOST] Peep was an emo-rap pioneer who passed
away at the age of 21 while on tour from an accidental overdose of Xanax laced with fentanyl
on November 15, 2017. [HOST] In the suit, Womack claims First Access
Entertainment and its CEO Sarah Stennett quote. [HOST] “fostered, promoted and encouraged”
drug use as a way to maintain control over Lil Peep and his tours. [HOST] The suit also names another woman,
Belinda Mercer, saying she allegedly. [HOST] …was in a sexual relationship with
Lil Peep while working as his tour manager and provided him drugs, including ketamine. [HOST] These allegations line up with reporting
from March where Mackned, an artist on Peep’s final tour, said quote. [HOST] “Belinda, she’s kind of a pimp…She
kept us in line with drugs. We were like her ho’s. We were fucking ketamine ho’s.” [HOST] The suit also says that First Access
pushed Peep to the edge to continue touring. [HOST] In one of his final interviews, he
spoke on how performing was affecting his mental health. Peep: If anything, things have gotten worse. Zane: because of the traveling and the touring
and the pressure? Peep: yea, things just get worse. The anxiety just gets worse and worse and
worse everyday. [CIOFFI] “Ms. Womack’s biggest hurdle is trying to get over the duty question, which is Did First Access Entertainment have a duty to prevent Lil Peep from obtaining or accessing drugs. [HOST] That’s Attorney Cioffi Remmer, a
trial attorney at Alderlaw law firm in Los Angeles, California. [CIOFFI] “We do wrongful death cases, we do primarily catastrophic personal injury cases.” [HOST] He told us that if proven, these actions
could have legal ramifications outside of this suit. [CIOFFI] “If it shows that FAE or any of its employees were or even founders were facilitating drugs or bootleg drugs without
prescription, there’s absolutely a reason for criminal referral here.” [HOST] But he says that F-A-E is not wholly
culpable. [CIOFFI] “So in case like this where Lil
Peep is actually taking the drugs, there is likely going to be found that he has some
percentage of his own fault.” [HOST] He says this case reminds him of the
death of pop megastar Michael Jackson. REPORTER: The civil lawsuit contends AEG Live
is responsible for Jackson’s death because it hired and supervised Dr. Conrad Murray. CIOFFI: The jury ultimately found that AEG was
not liable for Michael Jackson’s death.” [HOST] But there is one key difference. [CIOFFI] “They didn’t hire an actual doctor,
but it was their management, that potentially gave or allegedly gave Lil Peep bootleg drugs that potentially killed him. [HOST] Which could allow a jury to find F-A-E
responsible. [HOST] First Access Entertainment issued a
statement on Tuesday denouncing the suit saying quote. [HOST] …the claim that First Access Entertainment,
any of its employees…was somehow responsible for, complicit in, or contributed to [Peep’s]
death is categorically untrue.” [HOST] For her part, Ms. Womack believes this
lawsuit is her responsibility, saying quote. [HOST] “This is something that I must do
as a mother…I feel very concerned that they not be exploited…What Gus had to live through
is actually horrifying to me, and I’m sure he’s not the only person his age in this
situation.” [HOST] Since Peep’s death, Ms. Womack has
been very involved in the image and scope of her late son’s work. [LIZA] I’m going to be a very busy mom, because
I gotta go around and make it happen the right way. [HOST] She was behind the release of “Come
Over When You’re Sober. Pt. 2” on Columbia Records and is slated
to release a documentary titled “Everybody’s Everything,” on the second anniversary of
Peep’s death on November 15, 2019. LIZA: The night that he was born he looked
at me with these big eyes and he was just like a little peep. [HOST] I’m Jacques Morel with Genius News,
bring you the meaning and the knowledge behind the music. Peace.

  6. I’m from Tucson I know the stupid bitch that sold him the laced xans same bitch got my cousin too.. Fentanyl coming from the border watch what y’all popping shit ain’t safe no more

  7. What kinda tour manager gives to drugs to their clients? That's so dumb cuz the singer is literally making money for the manager.

  8. If only he would of had a different management that would of helped him instead of allowing him to keep pushing forward with the drug use, I'm glad Peep is getting justice for this.

  9. I remember the days when genius would drop a video on peep and it would be nothing but hate comments and dislikes, funny

  10. I have Peeps name tattoo'd on me and I still think this is noones fault and there should be no lawsuit. Peep was going from overdose to overdose way before that tour and before he was on that management. It was just a matter of time due to Americas fentanyl problem

  11. WHOS BEEN A FAN OF DOLAN BEFORE 2019?πŸ‘‡

(BΕ«t I’m sußíñg to everyΓ΅ne that LikΓͺs and sußő to mΔ™)

  12. Who the fuck laces Xanax with fentanyl?? I understand heroin laced with it not only bc it makes it stronger but here in Chicago it’s everywhere but I’ve never heard of it laced with Xanax tho. Yeah it fucks you up but Xanax is benzo and fentanyl is opiates. Together they can be great not gonna lie but even more dangerous than dope mixed with fentynal. Idk the point of taking Xanax doesn’t have the same effect of opiates tho. Idk man maybe I’m trippin but I’ve takin lots of Xanax in my day and now am 3 yrs sober from heroin and I have never seen this.

  13. All I'm saying is… Don't fkn take 5 tabs of xans at a time. You get high off of one, this is basic shit people. I get drug problems are a thing but if you can't handle addiction, don't fkn get addicted to shit, be smart ab things cmon

  14. Wow. Even Genius is spreading fake news now.. Peep did not die from fentanyl laced xanax. He died from a combination of xanax and fake oxy 30s.
